Mochitsuki is Portland’s annual Japanese New Year celebration and has been a premiere event in the local community since 1996. This event is especially great for kids! Expect mochi making (by hand and by new fangled machines), great food, activities from tea ceremony to calligraphy to ikebana flower arranging, and incredible performances all afternoon long. 

We will be there doing a demonstration on how to cook Umi noodles for Japanese New Years. Some of our favorite local companies will also demo-ing, including Life Sampling, Frog Eyes Wasabi, and Jorinji Miso. There are activities for everyone. Come!
