Join us for the True Portland book launch party! The book’s author, Teruo Kurosaki, and his collaborators, will be traveling from Japan to Portland for the party.

A mini Japan marketplace with local purveyors of Japanese food, drink, and goods sampling and selling their wares including Biwa/Noraneko/Parasol, Marukin Ramen, Yume Confections, Jorinji Miso, Kiriko Made, Wanpaku Natto, Seisuke Knife, Obon PDX, and Umi Organic.

Nat will be pouring his Magnificent Seven hard cider made with Japanese apple varieties and sake yeast which is already on shelves in Japan.

Culmination Brewing will be taking over one tap with their Oregon Kara Sakura beer made from yeast that Japanese brewery Ise Kadoya harvested from pine trees at Ise’s Grand Shinto Shrine garden.

D.J. Jimbo will be spinning all sorts of good tunes.

And, of course, Rhonda Hughes and Liz Crain and other Hawthorne Books folks will be there with a Mt. Fuji-sized mountain of books for sale. So please save the date and help us spread the word. The more the merrier. Come party with us!
